Theoretical Foundations & Practical Views

The construction and commissioning of any industrial or service unit involves understanding the theoretical foundations and practical views considering the existing economic conditions of the community in order to achieve the goals of production or the provision of services. Each product has certain characteristics and specifications that need to be identified prior to any technical, financial and economic examination of the project. The proper identification of the specifications and various types of a product will undoubtedly be an appropriate guide to the required decision-making on the choice of production method and operations and subsequent calculations.

In this regard, one of the most effective methods is to use the national and international standards of each product. In addition, examining the market requires identification of the customs tariff number of the products as a way to know about the import and export trends of the product. Examining the construction (feasibility) of a unit requires that various, multi-faceted economic and industrial parameters be considered in a comprehensive justification plan, including the following:

  • Determining the amount of investment in the plan, and examining the investment resources, the possibility of obtaining facilities and ways to raise funds;
  • Specifying how to supply the raw materials, doing research on the nature of materials, and examining different alternatives and the economic benefits of selecting the materials;
  • Identifying various processes of production or provision of services, checking the current systems and technologies, and selecting the best-quality equipment and machinery pieces;
  • Studying the site of the project in terms of the economic geographic coordinates and the establishment of installations and machinery to make the optimal use of them; and
  • Proper identification of the specifications and nature of a product and its compliance with national and international standards in order to enhance its quality with a look at its export position and capability.

Food Industry : Dairy Products

Today, the food industry is one of the commonest and most important active industries in the global economy. The growth of population, diversification of consumers’ preferences, the increased importance of food safety, healthy eating as a way of preventing the development of many diseases, and the great role of food from the economic and health perspective all indicate the significant role of nutrition and food industries in today’s human life. Dairy products supply a significant portion of human energy every day so that the consumption of these products as needed can guarantee people’s physical health and greater longevity. Therefore, considering the role of these products in human life, any activity that influences their production and supply is to be appreciated and appropriately supported.

Basic Principles

Specifying the design and goal of its implementation. The most important point in the production of high-quality dairy products is the use of fresh raw materials. The use of suitable raw materials and packaging devices, advanced automation machines, technical knowledge and specialized staff has made it possible for the products of this company to gain special privileges in the competition market and have a significant share of the market throughout Iran. With the goals of customer orientation and maintaining the health of the community, the product safety and quality management system, and maintaining and enhancing the company’s top position in the milk and dairy industry, this company will be established based on the following principles:

  • Creation of jobs and employment
  • Production and supply of high-quality products
  • Conventional profit
  • Attention to customers’ health and satisfaction
  • Innovation
  • Fair prices
  • Diversification of the production basket
  • Continuous training of human resources in order to manufacture a safe product and have a dynamic workplace
  • Development of the share of domestic and foreign markets

In addition, the world’s population is predicted to surpass 8 billion by 2020, and this population’s growing need for food will involve changes in the food industry. Milk is one of the most important types of food used by humans. We also know that milk is the only food used by human and animals during their first stages of life. Therefore, this food should contain any of nutrients that one needs for growth. Being rich in protein, vitamin, calcium, phosphorus and minerals, and having large amounts of energy, this food has a great share in the health and food basket of people in any community. The purpose of this project is to manufacture different types of dairy products with the annual capacity of 12,000 tons (with the capacity of 59,000 tons of milk per year) in PET containers which allow neither transmission of light nor permeability to oxygen, which is required by the entire country. This project seeks to take effective measures towards self-sufficiency in this area and will have effects on other manufacturing activities in the region and contribute to the creation and enhancement of development cores by paving the way for attracting specialists and creative manpower to the region. The construction of the plan is to be carried out as much as possible using the domestically made machinery, although a number of required devices which are not built domestically will be supplied from foreign countries. In general, the focus in the design and choice of the required machines is on self-sufficiency and lack of foreign dependency, so that all the materials are made domestically and there is indeed no need for foreign raw materials.

Marketing & Site Selection

Product's sales markets

One of the positioning criteria in each production plan is the selection of a site closest to the consumption markets. Examining the possibility of sales for the products manufactured in a new industrial unit can be an effective factor in assessing the economic position of that unit. In this regard, one needs to analyze the status of domestic products and the amount of domestic needs (based on the types of product use) considering the specific characteristics of each industry. Determining the extent of the shortage of domestic production, we should evaluate the obtainable share of the market for the new units. On the other hand, the specific characteristics of each industry may bring specific features for the sales and marketing of the products of that industry, which requires considering each industry separately. Dairy products have many uses due to their everyday use. As described earlier, all parts of Iran can be considered the market for the product of this project. Therefore, from the perspective of the product market, this project may be implemented in all provinces of Iran, although industrial provinces where most of the industrial units produce raw materials related to the products of this project must be prioritized.

Market for the supply of raw materials

The main raw material of this project will be supplied entirely from domestic markets. The point that is usually considered important in the selection of the site for project implementation in terms of supply of raw material for the project is the transportation cost. Although some of these materials are produced only in some provinces of Iran, they can be supplied in all parts of this country. One of the major benefits of implementing this project is the availability of the raw materials needed for the project, which is to be considered the most important competitive advantage of this industrial unit due to the long history of the production of its raw materials in the country. Most of the raw materials required for this project are actually supplied in Iran and near and around the sites where the project is implemented. Therefore, there is no cost of transportation and all provinces of Iran can be selected as the sites for implementation of this project.
